A Blessed Beginning: Groundbreaking Ceremony at Golden Harmonic Memorial Park
In the heart of Iraan, Aborlan, Palawan, a special day unfolded at Golden Harmonic Memorial Park—not the grand opening, nor the official start of operations, but a sacred moment of blessing and hope. On November 8, 2025, we gathered to bless the land that has remained untouched and overgrown for more than 15 years, preparing it gently for the journey ahead.
This groundbreaking was not about business licenses or construction permits. Our engineers still await the opportunity to measure and finalize plans for licensing. Instead, this ceremony was deeply rooted in our faith and respect for the land. We sought to honor our religious beliefs by asking for God’s blessing, praying that whatever unfolds in the future will be guided by goodness and protected from harm.
“To bless the land is to honor the past, embrace the present, and invite a future filled with peace.”
The event was graced by the presence of Barangay Captain Basi, the local pastor, and the barangay kagawads, whose support means so much to us. We were also honored to welcome officials from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) and the Masicampo representing the Tag Banua tribe, guardians of Palawan’s rich cultural heritage.
Initially, there was some misunderstanding and concern about our intentions. Some viewed the groundbreaking as the start of a commercial venture, sparking apprehension. But through open dialogue and by sharing our development plans, we were able to convey the true purpose and value of Golden Harmonic Memorial Park—a place of peace, remembrance, and harmony with nature and community traditions.
For me, the day was bittersweet. It was difficult to be misunderstood, yet heartening to see understanding and support grow. The blessing of the land was a humble act of faith, a prayer for protection and goodwill that transcends business.
“Blessings are the foundation upon which we build not just structures, but trust and community.”
After the ceremony, we shared a warm lunch with barangay members and officials, strengthening bonds and celebrating community spirit. The day culminated in a joyful social gathering at the barangay hall, filled with dancing, games, and karaoke—a beautiful reminder of the vibrant life and unity that define this community.
As night fell, we reflected on the day’s experiences with gratitude. This groundbreaking was more than a ceremony; it was a heartfelt beginning, a promise to honor the land, the people, and the future we hope to build together.
We look forward to continuing this journey with respect, care, and the blessings we sought on this memorable day.
